PHILOSOPHY

Great wines are a result of championing prosperous communities and healthy environments.

CRAFT WINEMAKING

Winemaking is a blend of science and art; a craft that captures the soil, site, and season. From soil to grape to glass, growing grapes and making wine has always been at the heart of the Angove DNA with the belief that great wines begin in the vineyard, are crafted and polished in the winery, and served with pride and conviction.

Angove’s 100-year-old winery benefits from both traditional and modern winemaking equipment and techniques. Specifically, the modern small batch micro winery handles our premium McLaren Vale and organic wines. These wines are crafted using traditional hand plunging for our smaller stainless steel open fermenters, while our historic 8 tonne concrete open fermenters are gently pumped over. These methods guarantee extraction of vibrant colour and pristine varietal flavours. Maturation in the temperature controlled barrel hall ensures our wines also maintain freshness and vibrancy throughout the aging process.

Accredited to the highest standard, the state-of-the-art bottling facility guarantees Angove wines are estate bottled and packed with care and love, under the watchful and ever-present eyes of the family and their team.

A SENSE OF PLACE

As proud South Australians, the Angove family are mindful of the generations to come, strategically planning for the long-term viability of the business, and consciously caring for the environment and the soils that are their past, present and future.

The Angove family portray their beliefs through clear actions, leading the way in organic and sustainable viticulture and winemaking, thereby safeguarding their future, by caring for the environment essential for grape production. Importantly, organic viticulture nurtures naturally healthy soils and vines that deliver distinctly flavourful and delicious wines.

No other place on earth can create the diversity and vibrant personality of wines that can be showcased here, in South Australia.

OUR COMMUNITY

Angove Family Winemakers is family-owned and family-driven. Now in its fifth generation of family leadership, the hope is that future generations will embrace and build on the legacy that has earned the company an enviable position as one of Australia’s most iconic family wineries and distillation businesses.

Although the vines grow the grapes, it is the people that provide the heart and soul of Angove Family Winemakers. The Angove team are united in one purpose, to make the best wine possible every year whilst being caretakers of the land and striving to be conscientious community members and global citizens.
